Foundation Foragudcoz is dedicated to helping disadvantaged Children realise their DREAMS!

Deep within our hearts, all of us have certain values which stay hidden and which we allow to surface only at certain periods of our lives. Sometimes we feel the urge to change things and make this world a better place for everybody to live in. Many times we don’t know how we, as individuals can make a difference. We don’t know where to start.

We at FF want to help you join in and make the lives of many children or even just one child better.

The child who is put to work as a domestic servant or in a small industry or in a shop or the child seeking alms at the traffic signal, - can you gift her or him with a brighter tomorrow ?

Yes, you can make a difference to their lives. By giving them the gift of education.

Come be with us and we will show you how.

A man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up, and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean. As our friend approached even closer he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had washed up onto the beach, and one at a time, he was throwing them back into the ocean. The first man was puzzled. He approached the man and said, "Good Evening Friend, I was wondering what are you doing?" And he replied, "I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide right now and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they will die from the lack of oxygen.""I understand," my friend replied "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach and you couldn't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many and don't you realize that this is happening on hundreds of beaches up and down this coast ... can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference? The local native smiled, bent down, picked up yet another starfish and as he threw it back out into the sea, he replied, "It made a difference to that one!"You may feel like you cannot make a difference in the world today, but you CAN make a difference in one life at a time.

Suganya came with her 10th standard Mark sheet today.

She's opted for the Biology -Maths Group for 11th and 12th.
Fees -Rs. 3100 paid by her mother by taking a loan from the house where she works as a domestic.
I've told her that FF would pay it.
She asks if she can come over from next week for coaching and I say yes happily.

Girls, keep going !!

As usual, when its the beginning of the school year, I am besieged by requests for help with keeping children in school. Some of them are from the children whom we have been supporting for some years.

This is Kalpana, who has been with us for some years. The first picture was taken in standard 8, in the village school , a shy pre-teen and the second pic when she made the transition to the town school and came out in flying colours in standard 10 . In the 8th standard, Kalpana came first in the district . Still shy, but much lankier, Kalpana , will be completing her 12th this year and hopes to go on to do her teacher training.
What are we going to do then?

Suganya studies at the town school through the efforts of FF and her mother . Evenings, after attending special classes, she comes home to help her mother with getting firewood and then settles down to study in a little one room shack. Very often she is disturbed by the sounds of her drunken father . Yet, Suganya maintains high marks. She speaks English fluently and is a winner.

Roja is making the transition to the big school this year. Why is it so important? Because, this is when the weaker kids tend to drop out. They can't cope with the new atmosphere , greater discipline, competition..
But Roja will last. Inspite of a bad heart, she is a fighter. And comes out on top.

Yes, I know I tend to go on and on about 'my kids.' Because I am so proud of them. Against all the odds, they rise above the others with their intelligence, their desire to learn and their cheerful happiness .

Small baby steps

Never done this before. I don't remember much about me trying to crawl and walk and stumble and fall and move on again but this thing about writing on a blog is pretty close.
What the heck I'm good for few laughs.
Is this how some of us feel when it comes to say reaching out for a cause. Are we afraid that we will stumble and fall ? Is it that the responsibility may be overbearing and to fall might lower us in the eyes of our near ones ?
Have we lost that sense of lightness that comes free in our youth ? I doubt that so why not breathe life into FF 2.0 by giving a hand.

Welcome to Foragudcoz!

As we enter the new School year - it poses new opportunities and challenges to every one!

Parents and Children - with a great expectation enter the school!

We are thrilled to see schools and teachers alike welcome the kids with open hand and heart to embrace them for another year of fun filled teaching!

As Foragudcoz continues its journey - every year we learn from those who give themselves for the betterment of the society; we try to bring awareness to our inner self in participating in providing better educational opportunities to every one- enabling them to choose what they want to be as they grow up!

Every small step we take to improve - we feel we can do more when we start seeing the fruits of effort. As we commit ourselves for another year of participation in making Foragudcoz successful we feel we have a helping hand in every person that we know- and We know a lot of them! And thank you all for the continuous encouragement & participation!
